Best rates for a Hampton ( looks older so that might be why but also few amenities at this exit ) Mgr was Shena and she was superb ! Friendly and efficient. Asked if we had dinner plans, we said nearby Denny's rather than the fast-food chains, she recommended nearby Little Italy for pasta, knew it was authentic when we entered and cook was speaking Italian. Service, price and food wonderful !
We have been staying at the Hampton now for about 8 yrs once or twice a year traveling fronm PA to NC with our dog. Always very nice and accomadating. We love the morning employee who puts out the breakfast.
I had the most appalling experience at this Hampton Inn. The attitude and demeanor of the evening/afternoon staff is absolutely disgusting. My family and I were evacuating from hurricane Irma and decided to book in advance. We were greeted with a pretty unfriendly attitude. Anyhow, I had an incident with my 2-year-old son; he ran away from me into an elevator with a strange man. Obviously, I dropped all my bags and ran to catch him before it closed. I chastised him and spanked him on his thigh. As I am about to get into the elevator a woman approached me to let me know that I could not spank my child and that I was an unfit mother. I was absolutely astonished. She even said that she and another guest wanted to call Child Protective Services on me. I was floored. She did not introduce herself, nor was she wearing a name tag. I tried to hear her out, but I explained that the way I chose to discipline my child was my business, and I even went as far as to explain what happened and why I saw it fit to spank him in this situation, which I DID NOT have to NOR did I owe her. This particular woman, whom I learned was an employee named Sheena, did NOT stop belittling, lecturing and ultimately embarrassing me. (All of this occurring while the elevator keeps slamming into me, is there no sensor?!) As a paying customer, a woman and a mother I do not think I have EVER been so disrespected in my life. I became irritated and asked her who she was, and she simply said she was the manager on duty, refusing to give me her name and repeating she’s the manger, as if to intimidate me. I asked for the general manager and made it clear I would be filing a complaint because I did not appreciate being accosted. She goes “ha, you ain’t seen nothing yet”. What an unprofessional and out of line employee! This was not even the only issue either. My party and I were constantly being “checked out” every day, so our internet and key cards kept needing to be renewed (pretty inconvenient not being able to get into our rooms at random). The pack and play they gave me for my son was DISGUSTING with spit-up on the sides and big stains all over it. The carpet in the room was disgusting with black stains, and the AC kept randomly cutting off. When I addressed the issues, front desk basically said it “wasn’t their problem” because I booked through a third party. If I am having direct issues with a hotel WHY must I do this?! The general manger Robin, was very nice and tried to address my issues. However, as nice and remorseful as she was, the whole situation and hotel experience was awful and nothing can change that. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone and I will never be back again!
Always very clean and well maintained facility with professional and courteous staff. Stays here have always been pleasant and enjoyable. Recommend this facility over the one next door.
